They're outdated, weird, and a little confusing: fashion laws from around the world.
We've all heard of those super weird, obscure laws that are inexplicably still in effect in different corners of the world. Like in Kentucky, it's illegal for a woman to marry more than three times (sorry Elizabeth Taylor), or in Milan, Italy, it's against the law to frown, that is unless you're visiting a hospital or attending a funeral. But what about the laws that focus on the chicer things in life? Whether they're urban legends, current or outdated policies, these peculiar laws take the phrase in trouble with the fashion police to a whole new (literal) level.
In 2013, the French government overturned a 200-year-old ban that forbade women from wearing trousers. Stylight.fr launched in 2012 and saw a 3.5% increase in pant sales the following year. Coincidence? Qui sait...
It may be illegal to fish in men's pajama pants in Chicago, IL, but in other parts of the country, the laws are equally as strange.
Women in California aren't allowed to drive while wearing a bathrobe and in Sarasota, FL, you can't sing in a public place while donning swim attire.

Depending on which state you're in Down Under, you could find yourself in hot water if caught wearing pink hot pants after midday on a Sunday.
The average number of clicks on pink products in Australia is 10% lower on Sunday's than during the rest of the week. This is a little strange considering Sunday's are normally 11% busier than other days for Stylight shoppers.

- In Thailand, you're not allowed to go out in public if you aren't wearing underpants. This sounds weird enough on its own, but when you consider that one of the most popular questions people are searching for using the keyword "pants" is "pants without underwear" things get even weirder.
- It's against the law to wear camouflage-patterned clothing in Barbados, St. Vincent, and St. Lucia.
Oh, North Carolina. The Tar Heel State is famous for many things, including the invention of Pepsi Cola, the Krispy Kreme donut and NASCAR, but did you also know that in Charlotte, NC, women technically must have their bodies covered by at least 16 yards of fabric at all times?
What do 16 yards of fabric look like? Well, imagine wearing one prom dress and underneath of it, a t-shirt, shirt, pair of pants and a vest. All I'm saying is that it had better be cold outside.
It may be illegal for men to wear strapless dresses in Miami, FL, but that doesn't stop men from making up 17% of Stylighter's who are shopping for dresses online.
